ROCHEPORT, MISSOURI

on the way to Columbia, we noticed a sign for the town of Rocheport, MO...home of the Les Bourgeois Winery. We decided to stop and vistit the winery, as well as this little town. We had a lovely time together. Here are some photos of the town, and also the winery. Enjoy!

TINY - JOE'S NEW SPINNING WHEEL

Joe had been watching on Craigslist for a new spinning wheel. He found this new wheel in Columbia, MO. The wheel needed a little bit of love and care. It cost Joe $100. Before I show you the wheel, here are 2 pictures from a Magnolia Tree outside the house where we purchased the wheel. Aren't these beautiful blossoms?

TRUE BLEWE YARNS & MORE-COLUMBIA, MO

One of the yarn shops that we visited was True Blewe Yarns & More. It was a small shop, but we enjoyed looking around. Purchased some stitch markers, and a pair of circular Chiaogoo knitting needles-size 3 - 12" for knitting socks. They had a nice selection of yarns; however, I didn't really need any yarn at this time. Maybe our next trip, I will bring home some goodness from there.

TRIP TO COLUMBIA

On Saturday, June 22, we drove to Columbia to visit a few yarn shops, and to also purchase an antique spinning wheel. Here are some of the photos taken along the ride.

Bob Jr
Bob Jr wanted to ride up front near Mom. He was watching the road at first, but as soon as that truck pulled up next to us, he turned around. You see, Ladybugs have a real fear of trucks. Many of them have ended up as bug splats on windshields. I promised him that we wouldn't let that happen to him.

Our first yarn shop of the day was a visit to the Hillcreek Yarn Shop. Look at that big smile on Joe's face. He was looking forward to buying more stash for himself.

While traveling down the road, Bob Jr started shouting, "Horses, Horses....look over there...I see horses". Well, they weren't real horses, but then we didn't tell Bob Jr that. Took a picture as a memory for us.
Mom was knitting while Dad drove. This is the last square of an afghan that she is making for her parents 60th Anniversary. She never leaves home without some type of knitting project to work on!

MEET THE NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK

BUGEYE
Recently, we added some new Ladybugs to our family. Meet Bugeye. You can tell from her eyes, where she gets her name from. I would like to say that she got those eyes from watching Joe drive down the highway, but she was born that way. We decided to take our new Ladybugs for a trip to Columbia, to make sure that they won't get car sick.

Sleeping Beauty

Meet Sleeping Beauty. She started out sleeping, and slept the entire trip.

Bob Jr
Meet "Bob Jr". Bob Jr enjoyed his first trip with us. Sometimes he would sit and watch Diane knitting, and sometimes he would want to watch the road. All in all, Bob Jr was a great one for a long trip.

We Will Be "On The Road Again"

29 Days and we will be "On the Road Again". Joe is able to take 2 weeks off from work, so that we can all go to New Jersey together. All of our ladybugs are very happy! They are already jumping up and down with excitement! Need to start getting everything ready for the trip! All of the Ladybugs are already fighting over who will sit where in the Ladybug Smart Car! We have told them that they will need to take turns riding in the front, but that the big ladybugs will need to stay in the back, as we don't want them to block our view driving down the road.

We are looking at the maps, trying to decide which way we want to travel this time. It would be nice to see different cities along the way! More to follow later!

Which Way Do We Go?

Hi this is Big Bob again today. I snuck on Mom's computer to let you all know that Mom & Dad don't know which way we are going for vacation this year. Dad got a new job, which he started on May 13. He is driving for a company in Savannah, MO. They deliver fertilizer and water to the fields. Well, just after 2 weeks, It started raining around here. So, you see, apparently when it rains, there is no need for Dad to go to work. Dad has been home from work for 2 weeks now, and has had to file for unemployment again.

Last weekend, we all got a scare here at the house. Mom thought she had a heart attack. They took Mom by ambulance to the hospital to be checked out. They couldn't find anything, but kept her overnight for observation. You see, women have different symptoms than men, when they are having or may be ready to have a heart attack. Mom had to go through several different tests this week to check out why this happened to her. She had a 2 day stress test, an Echo with bubble study, and she is also going to have a MRI and an MRA on Sunday at 2pm. That's too many tests for me. She will find out the results of all of this next week sometime. They explained to me that these tests are not like I had when I went to Ladybug School. It was really a good thing that Dad was home this week from work, as he was there to help Mom out. Dad is really good with helping our Mom. We are so glad that we have this Mom and Dad to live with.

During the week, Dad also had to rebuild his truck engine. He blew a gasket on it a while ago. He was able to fix his truck in just a few days. Another blessing for why Dad didn't work this week.

Mom & Dad went out for the day on Friday. It had been a crazy week with doctor appointments and also Dad working on the truck. They drove down to Kansas City to a few yarn shops....I know...do they really need more yarn? After that, they went to eat at a place called Noodles & Company. Mom & Dad said that the food was awesome! Of course, while they were down there, they also visited their friend Liz who has been in a nursing home for several years now.

Let me get back to the reason for this posting. When Dad lost his job, Mom was going to fly to New Jersey. Then Dad said he would like to go too, so they looked into what it would cost to fly, as well as take the train. I think the train would really be fun, but I think that Dad would prefer to drive, so that we can see a lot more things together. We will be able to get out of the car and maybe have a picnic or something fun like that.

So...now you know...we are all wondering....Which Way Will We Go?

Ladybugs Will Be Flying This Year!

Mr Ladybug lost his job, and started a new job, since we last posted on this blog. Since Mr Ladybug has started a new job, he will not be able to drive with Mrs Ladybug to New Jersey, as they originally had planned.

Mom, AKA Mrs Ladybug, will be flying out to New Jersey instead. Sad sad time...as Mom & Dad don't like to be apart, but some of us Ladybugs will be able to travel with Mom. The other Ladybugs will need to stay home and keep our Dad company.

The Ladybugs who get to go on the trip will post photos of their time away from home. Maybe Dad will also take pictures of the others, to show what they will be doing while Mom is away. Maybe Dad will teach them how to spin fiber on his spinning wheel?

Mom told us that during the summer, her and Dad will take a mini trip over the weekend, so that we can all have a holiday together! Yay...now wonder where they will take us.....

Until later...hope you all have a great day!

Big Bob
